The CMO of the Year 2023 has been revealed
On 22 November, for the second year running, Serviceplan organised the election of the CMO of the Year as part of the CMO Council.
The finalists for the CMO Council 2023 are as follows:
- Valérie Delaby, Senior Marketing Manager, Lay's Europe ;
- José Fernandez, Marketing Director, D'Ieteren Automotive;
- Isabel Henderick, Managing Director, ALDI Marcom BeLux.
And the winner is... José Fernandez, Chief Marketing Officer at D'Ieteren Automotive! José Fernandez succeeds Ellen Helsen, Marketing Manager at DCM, CMO of the Year 2022.
Peter Vande Graveele, CEO Serviceplan: "José deserves this title of CMO of the Year 2023, not only for his impressive career with advertisers and agencies, but above all for his personal involvement in our sector, for his commitment to society and, of course, for the excellent results achieved by the D'Ieteren Group. The automotive sector and mobility in general are undergoing major changes. And we can confirm that D'Ieteren innovates daily on these subjects and is rewarded with numerous prizes. José has always listened to consumers, which is the basis of our business, and the launch of the VOC (voice of customers) tool is a good example of this. Well done, José!”
The CMO Council was launched in Munich in 2017 by the Serviceplan Group, with the aim of creating an exclusive club made up of the country's most influential Chief Marketing Officers. This concept was extended to Belgium in 2022 and is made up of more than 80 CMOs from the Best Brands ranking.
The CMO of the Year award is representative of the entire sector and one of the most prestigious distinctions. It recognises the marketing director who is regarded as a role model in the marketing sector, bringing not only expertise but also many years of experience in the industry. The CMO of the Year is elected solely by his or her peers within the CMO Council.
