a design fiction about data protection
CHALLENGE
As a complement for an upcoming study about the inks between data privacy and data protection, the French CNIL wanted to lead a design fiction project exploring those thematics.
This project was to live independantly of the study and give its audience a new vision of ecological and data problematics.
Project has to be as collaborative as possible, embracing multiple points of view.
Key Facts
Climatopie Project
SOLUTION
Main inspirations for the Climatopie projet come from several design fiction methodology, and from a « Mikrodystopia » (very short sf novels) workshop lead by the French CNIL a few weeks before this project.
Plan.Net led a complete and contributive exploration of existing story about environment, technology and data, through science-fiction and news. We organised some workshop with profiles coming from several industries (including automotive, advertising, food, public institutions…).
"The CNIL regularly uses fiction and the techniques of design fiction in its foresight work. Means to produce objects of reflection so that everyone projects themselves into the risks and issues associated with data protection, in order to better respond to them. The association of the angles environment and freedoms is fertile in imagination and invites us to anticipate in order to better act on our future."
