MEDIAPLUS EXPANDS DEICHMANN'S GERMAN ACCOUNT TO EUROPE

From Germany to Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Romania and the Netherlands: the family-owned company DEICHMANN now has a new international partner: the owner-managed Mediaplus Group.

After many years of responsibility for the German account, Mediaplus has won the tender for five additional European markets. The integrated media strategy will be coordinated centrally from Germany.

 

Munich, 13 February 2024 – Mediaplus and Deichmann, Europe's largest shoe retailer, have been working side by side since 2014. Until now, the media activity has primarily focused on the German market. In a multi-stage presentation, the agency beat out several competitors and will expand its mandate to the European markets. Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Romania and the Netherlands are now added to the list. International cooperation began in January this year.

 

"Few sectors are as trend-driven and competitive as footwear, and yet we continue to grow. Of course, our partner agency also has a role to play. The DEICHMANN/Mediaplus team already works very well together in Germany. "Now, for the mandate extension, the Mediaplus Group has also convinced us with its offering, its professionalism, its knowledge of the different markets and its passion for DEICHMANN. "I am looking forward to taking the next steps together on an international level as well," explains Maren Ilenseer, Head of International Media at DEICHMANN.

 

The budget includes planning, strategy and buying and the combination includes the entire media spectrum across all channels. The common goal is to increase brand awareness and advertising in the short term and attract new customers in the long term. With a media strategy based on real-time data, the omnichannel retailer primarily appeals to young, fashion- and trend-conscious individuals and families.
