The Serviceplan Group looks to the future and records impressive 19% international growth and 27% growth in Italy.

04.10.2023

Thanks to its commitment to internationalization, digitalization, and its unique, integrated House of Communication approach, Europe's largest independent agency network has experienced extraordinary growth in fiscal year 2022/23. In Italy, it celebrates 11 years of success and the third consecutive record of excellence.

Milan, October 4th 2023 — The Serviceplan Group, incorporating agency brands such as Serviceplan, Mediaplus, and Plan.Net, reported an international fee revenue of 739 million euros for the fiscal year 2022/2023 ending in June. This marks a significant 19% increase from the previous year's 623 million euros.
Serviceplan Group Italy, established in April 2012, concluded the fiscal year 2022/23 with a net income of 27.6 million euros, representing a 27% rise compared to the previous year's 21.8 million euros.

Giovanni Ghelardi, Partner and CEO of the Serviceplan Group in Italy, emphasizes the significance of this success despite the uncertain context. He emphasizes the pivotal role played by three key factors: digitalization, international expansion, and the innovative "House of Communication" approach, which provides holistic solutions to clients.

According to Ghelardi, "The concept of the House of Communication is precisely the reason for our success in Italy. The actual integration of various specializations – creativity, content production, media, data, digital, CRM, commerce, and technology – has made us a reference point for many companies that, especially today, seek partners capable of guiding their brands in a non-complex and effective manner on a journey of reputation and performance building."

Stefania Siani – Partner and CEO Serviceplan Italia

Serviceplan functions as the Brand's creative hub, with a central focus on positioning, generating innovative ideas, and creating materials for all contemporary touchpoints. The strength of Serviceplan as a creative agency lies not only in the solid production structure of Make but also in the enrichment of insights from media and the effective use of technology. Interdisciplinary collaboration is crucial, and engaging with colleagues from different specializations is a vital step in successfully approaching any brief from an end-to-end perspective. Together, Serviceplan and Make now contribute to over half of the total revenue of the entire House of Communication, three years after my arrival as a Partner.

Vittorio Bucci – Partner and CEO Mediaplus & Plan.Net Italia

Having established the groundwork for a strong, global, and digitally advanced agency, we eagerly anticipate the next set of challenges. These include enhancing our proprietary solutions to adapt to the ever-diversifying market, offering consultancy services to guide our client companies through transformation processes, and integrating creativity into media to create projects that leave a lasting and powerful impact. Notably, Recma has recognized Mediaplus as the fastest-growing media agency in Italy.

Domenico Genovese – Partner and MD Plan.Net Italia

Our mission extends beyond simplifying Brand’s innovation and digital transformation processes; we strive to become a cornerstone within the House of Communication, where technology can truly make a difference in terms of experience and performance. In just twelve months, the newly-formed Plan.Net has achieved a remarkable turnover of 1.5 million euros. Our team of eight specialists collaborates closely with diverse clients, crafting highly innovative digital solutions and managing the coordination of The Marcom Engine project. Moreover, Plan.Net actively supports Serviceplan by infusing technological expertise into creatively impactful projects and, in partnership with Mediaplus, develops cutting-edge MarTech solutions and manages the entire user journey. This involves activating CRM solutions, handling data management, and implementing first-party data enrichment strategies

Fabio Sperti – Partner and CFO Serviceplan Group Italia

A growth as significant and sustained as this one raises, now more than ever, the issue of recruiting and retaining talents. This is a crucial matter, especially for us, as we work on creating excellent communication projects by integrating various specialists: brand strategists, creatives, experience designers, media experts, marketing professionals, technology and CRM specialists, data scientists, research experts, and PR professionals. The House of Communication is a platform where these diverse skills meet and develop. This happens through active participation in integrated working groups and thanks to training and inspirational activities for colleagues. These paths range from fundamental concepts to ensure a comprehensive understanding of all elements of an effective communication plan to more advanced topics, such as artificial intelligence. Furthermore, we organize presentations and discussions on topics that go beyond communication, such as the recent meeting with Alexa Pantanella on inclusive languages or the one with Nicola Palmarini on multi-generational aspects.

Looking to the future, Ghelardi expresses cautious optimism, emphasizing that the adopted model is robust and prepared to face the challenges that the fast-paced and uncertain markets will continue to demand from brands. Agility, integration, and innovation are the keys to respond effectively.

Three fundamental themes remain our top priorities:

1.     Comunicazione end-to-end
The House of Communication is committed to guiding clients in creating all-encompassing communication plans, from analyzing insights to producing and distributing assets, simplifying the process for clients. Strengthening Make, the content and events production company, and the development of the new Plan.Net, are crucial steps in this direction.

2.     Performance concretamente misurabili
The Group's ability to significantly impact clients' business performance is a strategic advantage. This is made possible through an independent and interoperable approach to media, constantly enhancing measurements and providing highly customized services tailored to clients' needs.

3.     Tecnologia come catalizzatore
The Group's digital and technological prowess is fundamental in aiding brands during their transformation and bolstering internal creativity, production, media, and operational efficiency. The automation of repetitive processes is integral to this effort, unleashing the potential of the Group's talents.
