An Ode to Excess and Cabaret Spirit

Every year, the unusual Scottish gin surprises us with the launch of a new creation. On this occasion, Grand Cabaret takes us to the flavors and cocktails of the free and creative souls of Paris in the early twentieth century.

The presentation of Grand Cabaret could not be done in a conventional way, but we had to be faithful to the spirit of the brand and the intrinsic values behind this iconic special edition.

The challenge lay not only in transporting us to the cabaret world of that period, but also in giving free rein to maximalism, where more is more, where we must escape from minimalism to enter an extravagant, sophisticated and mysterious universe, to connect with the most curious and dreamy part of the public.

The Flying Chandelier Turned into a Zipline

Solution

In addition to its stone fruit-based flavor, the central element of Hendrick's Grand Cabaret is the chandelier, a nod to the majestic gatherings that inspired the creation of this drink, which should take center stage in its presentation. 

Inspired by the poet William Blake “the path of excess leads to the palace of wisdom”, we designed an experience whose central element is a flying chandelier turned into a zip line, capable of surprising and grabbing all eyes.

Thus, we turned the Joy Eslava Theater into an ephemeral and spectacular Cabaret for one night, in which we invited all attendees to immerse themselves in a world of fantasy, excess and chimeras flooded by the exuberance of nature, through mysterious and eccentric characters in their speeches and costumes, live shows, maximalist decoration in every corner and the most important element that would be unveiled during the evening: the flying chandelier. A lamp built ad hoc to turn it into a zip line that would fly over the theater at a height of 7.4 meters and for 21 meters to the stage. All the guests were encouraged to witness and participate in this delirious flight of the first chandelier turned into a zip line.

An event in which everything was taken care of and at the service of the brand: from the design of the characters, their costumes and speeches, the color palette that dressed the theater, the props that evoked excess, the videos that accompanied each of the live performances.
