Innovation Day 2019

New formats at Serviceplan’s 15th Innovation Day

18.07.2019

On 25 September, the 15th Innovation Day will be taking place at the House of Communication in Munich. To mark the anniversary, the organisers are planning several additions to the programme. With the SPEAKER MEET-UPS and TREND TABLES, more than 400 guests will be given the opportunity to expand both their know-how and networks.

Munich, 19 July 2019 — This year’s Innovation Day at the Munich House of Communication will once again see a varied line-up of international top speakers and personalities from the worlds of business, politics, media and communication coming together to discuss current developments and trends of the media and communications sector in talks, discussion panels and workshops. Innovation Day is organised by the Serviceplan Group together with the partners Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, G+J e|MS, Samsung Electronics and SpotCom.

For the first time, guests will have the opportunity to meet one of the day’s top speakers in person at the "SPEAKER MEET-UPS". In an exclusive conversation or workshop, up to 20 participants will be able to develop their know-how and generate valuable input for their own companies. In an intensive exchange with other decision-makers, participants can also expand their personal network with interesting contacts.

At the "TREND TABLES", up to 30 participants will receive valuable insights into a megatrend from the marketing and communications industry, such as purpose branding, voice or e-sports. Sharing experiences with like-minded people gives attendees the unique opportunity to develop their knowledge and network with other decision-makers.

On the traditional "ONE STAGE", guests will experience keynotes and talks by high-profile international speakers on various megatrends and the latest topics currently having a significant impact not only on the communications and advertising industries, but also on society. This year’s overarching theme is “Transformation”. Following the welcome by Florian Haller, CEO of the Serviceplan Group, moderator and journalist Wolfram Kons will be guiding the audience through the day.

Top Speakers of the Day (among others)

In her presentation and the subsequent talk with editor-in-chief of Stern magazine Anna-Beeke Gretemeier, Dr Viviane Reding, former Vice-President of the European Commission, will speak about the subject “Transforming Europe” and how, as a counter-pole to China and the USA, Europe has the innovative strength and the right values to play a decisive role in shaping the digital future. Friedrich Merz, former long-standing Chairman of Atlantik-Brücke, will outline the changes in transatlantic relations and their consequences for the future in his talk entitled “Transforming Relationships”. Under the title “Transforming Organisational Culture”, Dr Frederik G. Pferdt, Google’s Chief Innovation Evangelist and Adjunct Professor at Stanford University, will explain how successful innovation cultures develop and function in companies. And Ralf Reichert, CEO and co-founder of ESL, the world’s largest e-sports company, will provide insights into the booming e-sport business, as well as showing the potential that exists for brands. Under the title “Transforming Business”, successful leaders – including Alexander Sixt, Member of the Executive Board of SIXT – will present their best cases and showing how the transformation of a company can succeed. And based on exciting best cases, Jeff Lunsford, CEO of Tealium, will explain how the customer journey can be extended to smart home applications in his talk entitled “Transforming the Customer Journey”.

Under the motto “Experience the Future”, the "INNOVATION LOUNGE" will provide even more inspiration. Alongside the day’s itinerary, guests are invited to try out innovative technologies and their potential uses for themselves. They will be surprised by new, smart devices and discover intelligent, custom-made solutions that will help them guide their company into a successful digital future.

CMO Award Night

On the evening of Innovation Day, the CMO of the Year Award will be presented for the sixth time. True to the motto “by CMOs for CMOs”, the CMO of the Year Council shortlists the Top 10 Chief Marketing Officers in Germany – based on the six assessment criteria of person, success, image, innovation, internationality and customer-centricity. In a session lasting several hours, the CMO of the Year jury comprising 14 members then decides on the winner, who will be presented with the sought-after trophy in the presence of around 300 decision-makers at the CMO Award Night directly after Innovation Day.
